I found a link to "The Delights of Turkey' Textile Industry Tour . Apparently, it's a week long event that has taken place in Istanbul for the past six years. I guess that means it's successful, huh? The tour "enables buyers to conveniently explore the advantages of sourcing ...from the strong textile economy of Turkey".

Recently, while chatting with a friend and fellow textile-folk, I started to think about country of origin. I, personally, tend to deal in fabrics that were born in countries like Korea and Japan while she works most often with cloth from the likes of India and China. As our discussion continued, we discovered that we each have our own opinions and ideas of what various countries have to offer.

I have never taken advantage of one of the major resources this show has to offer: Seminars! Have you all seen this list? It's quite impressive. It covers everything from Sourcing Solutions to Eco Marketing Trends. So take a look at what they're offering, register, and make a day(or two) of it.

How much of your day is spent connecting with fellow industry pros on LinkedIn? Are you utilizing new media to spread your message and attain new customers? Has your website adopted user-generated content? Are you taking photos of your events and posting them on Flickr for all to see and enjoy?
