I cannot wait to check out this textile exhibit at Cristina Grajales Gallery in Manhattan. Hechizoo Textile, working with skilled weavers and artisans, creates rugs, upholstery and curtain fabric as well as architectural screens and meshes. The innovative use of materials also sets Hechizoo apart from other textiles. The integration of indigenous vegetable fibers such [...]
Just a reminder: TexWorld USA registration in New York is open! Looking to source fabric for next season? Who's going?
Even though I'm not one to follow any of the shows during fashion weeks with religious fervor, I have to say that I really enjoyed looking at the Kenzo collection. While always whimsical, the Summer 2011 collection really caught my eye. Now, I am not saying that I find the clothes to be wearable or [...]
I'm about to write a new post and I'm realized that over the past week, I haven't even made a slight reference to Fashion Week. Why?! Not sure. So now it's time to remedy this situation. Now, it would take me hours to go through the never ending list of designers and mention my thoughts [...]
Spring 2011 Color Trends hit WWD today. Now, let's forget for a second that I was having a hard time distinguishing between the men's and women's collection of colors, and focus on the hues themselves. You may remember I wrote about Pergamena in the past but in case you're new to our little blog here, I will [...]
While I absolutely love living in New York it's sometimes quite a bummer to know that it's not always possible to just pick up and go to the various exciting, inspiring, and resourceful textile and fashion related shows that happen in other parts of the country. Yes, I get the basic gist of things through [...]
I was introduced to ten14textiles, specializing in funky but stylish (at least in my opinion) print designs. The work is playful yet sophisticated, intricate yet simply translated. These fabrics seem to possess the unique ability to work for a variety of end uses in both the apparel and home textile market.
